Garlands are a symbol of worship. Every Thursday, a new set of garlands is used to adorn the idols of ganesa, siva, dattatreya and sai baba. For each week, the temple accepts garland sponsorship from only one devotee.

To draw people’s attention towards the idols and invoke their faith in God the idols in the temple are regularly dressed and decorated, in order to draw people’s attention towards them and invoke their faith in God. This is very helpful in the initial stages of worship. The beautiful flower garlands help in ensuring that the mental picture of the deities we take with us is pleasant and lasts for a long time.
