kārtika māsam is one of the most auspicious months in the bhāratīya calendar. It is dedicated to Lords śiva, viṣṇu and kārtikēya. During this sacred month, devotees light lamps (deepas), observe fasting, and seek divine blessings for peace, good health, and prosperity.
subramaṇya jayantī is celebrated on the sixth day of the waxing phase of the moon during this month. This day is also known as (s)kanda śaṣṭi.
Every day during this month, rudrābhiṣekam will be performed from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. This will be followed by ṣēja ārati. In addition to the daily rudrābhiṣekam, the schedule of special events for this month is:

This month is also known as puruṣotthama māsam, as it is believed that Lords śiva and viṣṇu exist together on our earth during this holy month.
