This pūjā can be performed by man, woman or child of any caste or creed. It takes approximately 1 hour to complete the various steps of this pūjā. This pūjā can help one overcome challenges and achieve the life’s ambitions. satyanārāyaṇa is believed to be savior of the sinners. If one sincerely tries to atone for their actions, Lord satyanārāyaṇa will pardon them and help them lead a moral life. One can also seek Lord satyanārāyaṇa’s blessing prior to starting a new venture by performing this pūjā .
This pūjā can be done on full moon days (pūrṇimā) with a few other devotees in the temple. On every pūrṇimā, priests at the temple will facilitate this pūjā for several devotees’ families as a group (samūhika) in one session. Each family will be provided one set of pūjā items.
The devotees should bring:
- Some fruits
- One coconut (if possible)
- Small bunch of flowers
- Home-made satyanārāyaṇa prasāda
