During guru purṇimā we honor all our gurus. Our primary guru at this temple is sadguru śirḍī sāī bābā, who we believe is the 5th reincarnation of Lord dattātreya in kali yuga. The ādi guru is of course Lord śiva. Using the holy fire as a means to pray to our beloved gurus is the purest form of prayer (sādhana). So, we perform homam while chanting various mantras in reverence to these deities – our gurus.
Additionally, we include navagraha homam to get the blessing of all the planets, which have a significant influence on our daily lives.
By sponsoring the homams during our guru purṇimā celebrations, you are seeking the blessing of all our gurus and the navagrahas for spiritual guidance without any challenges.
