navarātrī, which means nine nights, honors devī, the divine Mother, the all-pervading śaktī (ādi parā śaktī). It is celebrated during the first nine nights and ten days of aśvinaḥ lunar month. During navarātrī, devotees worship devī in her three forms: durgā, lakṣmī and sarasvatī.
