kalyāṇam is the divine union of masculine and feminine energies. It is also known as a mystic union. Each union is celebrated during the appropriate festivals or religious events. Participation in celebrating any of the divine unions is believed to bestow several benefits. Primarily, it is believed to bring blessings of prosperity, harmony, and marital bliss to the couples who are present. These divine unions are considered as auspicious symbols of an ideal marital relationship, and the blessings of the divine couple are sought for a happy and fulfilling married life.
